Hi. I am a cultural journalist and mother of two boys.

When not chasing them through galleries or hushing them quiet at the theatre, I write about the arts for The Irish Times, and the Sunday Business Post. Contact me with queries/feedback @

  1. Hi Sara, I love your website and I’m always keeping an eye on your facebook page for interesting things to do with my little one. I’m very grateful for all the information you share with all of us moms and dads.

My name is Cecilia and I work in the Argentine Embassy in Dublin. From time to time, we are asked by touring companies from Argentina planning to come to Europe to facilitate information and contact details of venues/theatres/spaces where to offer their proposals. I’m currently trying to put up a list of such spaces, especially those which cater for young audiences (esp. music/plays for children, etc) so if you have any ideas or information, I’d really appreciate it.
    Thanks in advance.
    Kind regards,

  2. Hello Sara,

I see you are coming to Glor, Ennis on the 4th March and that you blog about culture for kids. As a granny, I would be interested in attending you talk. Unfortunately I will not get to meet you this time.

We will be in Siamsa Tire, Tralee on the Saturday with a Group ‘The Speks’. They are a virtual band who sing nursery rhymes to Irish Music for children from 2-8 years, and for their parents and grandparents aunts and uncles and anyone who is into a bit of fun while rhyming and dancing to the rhythm.

We would love you to come and see the show at some future date but in the meantime you may wish to look up the website at http://www.thespeks.com.

Enjoy your time in our county and in Glor.

Best wishes and good luck in spreading the joys of storytelling and reading for small children. It is such a fantastic foundation for them.
