This Week We Are

Odysseus and the Wooden Horse

Reading

The Hopscotch series of Greek Myths with the two year old. These are actually early readers but he is really into knights and monsters and we have exhausted the library’s picture book store. Odysseus and his Trojan Horse are a particular hit. The illustrations aren’t pretty but story is straightforward and there is a good balance between picture and story.

I will admit: struggling to read with 7 month old. Apart from having to wrestle board books out of his older brother’s hands, if we even get that far, he seems to take it as a cue to sleep. Warch this space for progress report.

Visiting

Graveyards. Dun Laoighre Rathdown’s Summer of Heritage programme is about to finish so we are running around with the buggy trying to get to all the usually private historical sites. Favourites include the Quaker Cemetery on Temple Hill and The Seapoint Martello (also known as the marshmallow tower).

Looking Forward To

A musical picnic at Civic Offices next Thursday for Opera in the Open.
